The festival, now in it's 6th year, will once again be held at Mattson Lower Harbor Park in downtown Marquette over Labor Day Weekend. The dates are Saturday, September 5 and Sunday, September 6, 2009. Featured performers on Saturday include Blue Bass entertainment recording artists Biscuit Miller & the Mix, VizzTone recording artist Gina Sicilia and Chikan Howse Records recording artist James "SUPER CHIKAN" Johnson.

On Sunday, the featured performers are Michigan's very own "The King of the Party Blues" Maurice Davis, Shanachie Entertainment recording artist Curtis Salgado and Blind Pig recording artists Smokin' Joe Kubek and B'nois King. Glass Bottom Shipwreck Tour

Come Aboard! Discover the proud boats, which sailed the Great Lakes before the turn of the century. See first hand the shipwrecks of the Alger Underwater Preserve through the clear waters of Lake Superior and view the rock formations of Grand Island. Preserved by Lake Superior's frigid waters, these doomed vessels lay on the bay bottom where they met their fates when the tempestuous Lake displayed its violent power. The two-hour tour covers a distance of about 10 miles and features sights both above and below the water.

Marquette History Museum

The Marquette County History Museum offers changing exhibits which highlight various aspects of the region's past. This special exhibit for 2006 is "From Person to Person," focusing on the history of communication from pictographs and foghorns to radios and computers, and everything in between! Explore the permanent gallery and uncover the facts and artifacts that make Marquette County history truly fascinating such as the Native American diorama, fur trading post and antique gun collection. The Marquette County History Museum was founded in 1918 by a group of local residents who wished to preserve the area's rich cultural heritage.

The Upper Peninsula Children's Museum

Slide down a toilet, into a septic system, crawl through a drain field and then under a pond. After you emerge from the pond interact with real turtles and snakes that would live in that environment that was just crawled through. This is just one of the many creative adventures a child can undertake at the Upper Peninsula Children's Museum. This hands-on museum was designed by KIDS for kids and is unique among museums. In 2003 the Museum received the Governor's award for Arts and Culture as an exemplary cultural institution in our state. Visitors will delight in its creative wonder and children will be enthralled for hours.
